The 2006 racing season at Kawartha Downs proves to be a turning point in the history of the track. As approved by the Ontario Racing Commission, beginning January 1, 2006, Kawartha Downs will race Tuesday afternoons, 4 pm post time, and Thursday evenings, 7 pm post time. The change in the schedule is a departure from the traditional Saturday races.
Kawartha Downs is also home to over 375 slot machines in $0.05, $0.25, $0.50, $1.00, $2.00, $5.00 denominations.
