Prairie Meadows Casino
Prairie Meadows Casino is a horseracing track and casino located ten miles east of Des Moines, Iowa. Prairie Meadows features seasonal live thoroughbred, quarter horse and harness racing typically from April to November. Prairie Meadows has had an eventful history that began with its first live horse race on March 1, 1989.
Prairie Meadows is considered as the pioneer in racinos - horse or greyhound race tracks which have casinos.
In 1995, Prairie Meadows expanded its operations to include 1,500 slot machines. Recently, the track added casino table games on Clubhouse's fourth level. Games include Texas Hold 'em, Omaha, Seven-Card Stud, Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Pai Gow Poker, Three-Card Poker, Crazy 4 Poker and Mini-Baccarat.
Slot machine titles like Pele, Money Honey, 50 Lions, Star Drifter, Egyptian Quest and ER Fever will be available soon.
In addition to its one-mile racing oval, Prairie Meadows has a half-mile training track.
